15 YEARS IN 15 IMAGES
Fifteen years ago, IMBEWU started its journey in the heart of a township in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Today, the organisation carries on the will and drive of its four founding members to support local youth through education and sport for development projects.
LATEST NEWS OF THE PROJECTS
Once a year, IMBEWU’s general coordinator visits the projects for a follow-up. These visits are essential to develop a finer understanding of the context of where the activities take place as well as to adapt the strategy and structure of the projects as closely as possible to the local reality.
SOUNDS OF PEACE | Story & photos
This summer, as part of the celebration for its 15 years in existence, IMBEWU completed the first project of its kind Sounds of Peace. Built around three axes – culture, music and diversity – the project’s aim was to bring together young people from the Neuchatel region and Port Elisabeth South Africa to share a week of activities using music as a channel for exchange.
To summarise in a few lines the richness which emerged from each day of the project is impossible. For this reason, we have selected some highlights from what was an extremely successful project.
